Hello I am Kyle Rowell and I want to be your next Tax Collector.
I am an accountant and rancher. I have always wanted to serve You in this capacity. I am a 7th generation Taylor County resident. I was born here and raised here. I graduated from Taylor County High School in 1993, attended North Florida Junior College and was the first in my family to ever graduate from college. I graduated from Valdosta State University in 1998 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a minor in Public Administration. I have served many local friends and residents over the past ten years as their professional tax preparer and consultant with tax savings being our number one goal. I promise to serve you with dignity and will always to be available to assist any Taylor County tax payer on any issue he or she may ever have.
I am the son of Walter Daniel Rowell, who served as county commissioner for three terms and Gerry-Ann Persons Rowell. I am the grandson of the late Lawrence Hilton Rowell and Virginia Tedder Rowell, and A. L. Cribbs. Geraldine Grubbs Cribbs is my grandmother. I have served on the Taylor Democratic Executive committee since I was 18 years old and since 1998 served as treasurer. I am a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where I have taught Sunday school, sung in the choir, and am currently the church treasurer.
I am running as if I am applying to you the tax payer for a job within your county. I believe all candidates should adopt this idea. THE TAXPAYERS ARE THE BOSS. My slogan is simple, "Hire Kyle, I will go the extra mile." I believe I have a lot to offer for the future of Taylor County. I promise to always keep a conservative watch dog eye on the county's tax dollars; and if there are surpluses there should be refunds / milliage reductions! County officers should never waste a tax payer's dollar. "If blessed enough to be hired", I will always adhere to this and never allow waste on my watch.
I was elected in an eight county district as Lieutenant Governor, District 2 of Career Education Clubs of Florida in 1992 and served through 1993, my senior year in high school. This was a big honor because all students of all the small counties didn't even equal one of the Leon County's schools student population, (Leon, Lincoln, Godby and Rickards) where usually all the representatives come from. I will always have admiration for this because I represented Taylor County. I was awarded Farm Credit Young Farmer of the year in 2005. I have also served on the Taylor County Soil and Water Board for the past year, from the advice of past board member Rudolph Parker who had to resign and was later elected county commissioner.
I will always believe in political accessibility, and will always have an open door policy, and a 24/7 contact policy. If you ever have a tax question (Federal, State, or Local) always feel free to contact me. I was committed two years ago to run for Tax Collector when the present tax collector personally told me he was going to retire and my passion has remained the same. I humbly appreciate your support. It means a lot personally that you are taking the time out of your busy schedule to read this.
